Dave Dickson

MWDI is pleased to have Dave Dickson, a recent US Navy Electronics/SONAR Technician, interning with us during the next 18 months.

Among other areas, Dave’s Navy career focused on anti-submarine warfare systems, torpedo and other weapons systems and the tracking / detection of over 100 ocean mammals and organisms used in developing course deviation shipping tactics.

Since 2010, Dave attended the University of Maryland (College Park) finalizing a degree in Environmental Management -Emergency Management.  He plans to continue with his education in graduate school.

Besides helping MWDI conduct nesting inspections at Jug Bay on the Patuxent, along the Chicamicomico River and at the McKee Beshers WMA, Dave has assisted Patuxent State Park officials on banding ospreys, removing invasive species and transplanting wild rice.

Dave will continue assisting MWDI and has agreed to manage the McKee Beshers WMA project involving some 95 boxes partially in conjunction with Isaak Walton League volunteers.

MWDI welcomes Dave and thanks him for his efforts!
