Dave Dickson
MWDI
is pleased to have Dave Dickson, a recent US Navy
Electronics/SONAR Technician, interning with us during the next 18
months.
Among other areas, Dave’s Navy career focused on anti-submarine
warfare systems, torpedo and other weapons systems and the
tracking / detection of over 100 ocean mammals and organisms
used in developing course deviation shipping tactics.
Since 2010, Dave attended the University of Maryland (College
Park) finalizing a degree in Environmental Management -Emergency
Management. He plans to continue with his education in
graduate school.
Besides helping MWDI conduct nesting inspections at Jug Bay on
the Patuxent, along the Chicamicomico River and at the McKee
Beshers WMA, Dave has assisted Patuxent State Park officials on
banding ospreys, removing invasive species and transplanting
wild rice.
Dave will continue assisting MWDI and has agreed to manage the
McKee Beshers WMA project involving some 95 boxes partially in
conjunction with Isaak Walton League volunteers.
MWDI welcomes Dave and thanks him for
his efforts!
