Harry Daisey, Chairman of SCI Conservation Committee, presents check for $1,000 to Aaron Ward, MWDI’s Lower Shore Regional Manager.

The Chesapeake Chapter of the Safari Club International has selected MWDI to receive $1,000 to support our youth-oriented box building and outreach activities. Harry Daisey, Chairman of SCI Conservation Committee, recently presented the check to Aaron Ward, MWDI’s Lower Shore Regional Manager.

Among the many conservation projects funded by SCI, two of the Chapter's projects have received singular recognition and support. Bridging the issues of education and environment is a project funded by the Chapter in cooperation with the "Friends of Blackwater" and a Cambridge High School carpentry class to build board walks through salt water marshes on the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge near Cambridge, MD.

The Chesapeake Chapter will hold its 18th Annual Banquet and Fundraiser on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Chartwell Country Club in Severna Park, Maryland. Details can be found on the SCI website: http://www.chesapeakesci.org/

Thank you to the Chesapeake Chapter for their support and interest in MWDI. A special thanks is also due Donald Webster, MD DNR Wildlife & Heritage Service, for his role in helping MWDI to obtain this generous support.
